SPECIALTIES IN PHYSIOTERAPY

Trauma physiotherapy

In trauma physiotherapy, different techniques and treatment modalities are used, such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy and cryotherapy, among others. These interventions are tailored to the specific needs of each injury, whether it is a fracture, sprain, dislocation, muscle injury, or soft tissue injury.

The trauma physical therapist performs a thorough evaluation to determine the extent of the injury and design a personalized treatment plan. In addition to addressing symptoms and physical rehabilitation, it also focuses on preventing future injuries, providing self-care guidelines and recommendations to avoid complications.

Trauma physiotherapy

What pathologies do we treat with trauma physiotherapy?

Trauma physiotherapy treats various musculoskeletal conditions, such as fractures, sprains, dislocations, muscle injuries, soft tissue injuries, and disorders related to trauma or accidents. It also addresses conditions like tendinitis, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and spinal problems, among others. The focus is to relieve pain, improve mobility and promote the functional recovery of the patient.

Tendinitis

Rotator cuff tendonitis – affects the tendons that surround and stabilize the shoulder joint.
Achilles Tendonitis – affects the Achilles tendon at the back of the ankle.
Patellar tendonitis: affects the tendon that connects the kneecap to the tibia, in the front part of the knee.
Tennis elbow tendonitis (lateral epicondylitis): affects the tendons on the outer side of the elbow.
Golfer's elbow tendinitis (medial epicondylitis): affects the tendons on the inner side of the elbow.
Hamstring tendonitis – affects the tendons in the back of the thigh.

Bursitis

Trochanteric bursitis: external hip.
Subacromial bursitis: shoulder.
Olecranon bursitis: elbow.
Prepatellar bursitis: front knee.
Anserine bursitis: inner knee.
Ischial bursitis: gluteals.
Heel bursitis: heel, near the Achilles tendon.

Spine

Herniated disc, scoliosis, spinal stenosis, facet syndrome, spondylolisthesis, vertebral fractures, sciatica, and chronic back pain are common pathologies of the spine that cause pain and affect mobility.

Carpal tunnel syndrome

pain and numbness in hand and fingers. Trauma physical therapy can be effective in relieving symptoms and improving hand and wrist function.

shoulder tendinopathy

Shock waves are a therapeutic option to treat shoulder tendinopathy, an injury to the shoulder tendons that causes pain and limitation of movement. Shock waves can help stimulate healing and reduce pain in this condition.

Frozen shoulder

Frozen shoulder is a painful condition that affects the rotator cuff. Physical therapy can be beneficial in relieving pain, improving mobility, and promoting recovery.

Chondromalacia

Trauma physiotherapy plays an important role in the treatment of this injury, using techniques such as manual therapy, strengthening exercises, stretching, and electrotherapy modalities, with the goal of speeding recovery, reducing pain, and restoring muscle function.

Sprain

ligament injury from overstretching. Trauma physiotherapy facilitates recovery with rehabilitation techniques, exercises and manual therapy. painful.

"Dr. David Ponce, is a crack!!! After more than two years and two hip interventions after which acute pain persisted in the posterior thigh during this same time, he knew how to diagnose me with what no specialist contemplated: a break old hamstring, from which I am beginning to recover in the same clinic with the "hand" of the physiotherapist Arnau Surós."
