SPECIALTIES IN OSTEOPATHY

Structural Osteopathy

Structural Osteopathy is a manual manipulative therapy focused on the treatment of the musculoskeletal system (bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue) restoring mobility and maintaining elasticity in all systems, thus reducing the pain usually caused by a sedentary lifestyle, poor posture, physical overexertion, sports injury and stress.

Structural Osteopathy

What pathologies do we treat with structural osteopathy?

The structural techniques that we use are manipulation, which must be precise, specific and painless for the patient. Rhythmic techniques are also used, which are those directed at soft tissues (muscles, tendons…) and joints: stretching, pumping, traction, joint mobilization and myofascial techniques.

Herniated disc

Structural osteopathy helps to increase the space between the vertebrae, which can cause a change in the position of the herniated disc. This in turn reduces the pressure on the affected nerve, relieving the associated pain

Psychosomatic disorders

Stress can cause psychosomatic disorders that manifest with an increase in muscle contracture in the cervical area. In this case, structural osteopathy is presented as an essential tool to address and treat these disorders, relieving muscle tension and restoring biomechanical balance.

Liver disorders

Liver disorders, such as slow digestion, can improve after manipulating the dorsal area. The manipulation of the dorsal region through osteopathy can help improve liver function and facilitate digestion by promoting blood circulation and the release of tension

Menstrual disorders

Menstrual disorders such as irregular and painful periods that are closely related to the lower back, so by manipulating this area, we will improve these menstrual symptoms.

Digestive disorders

Osteopathy can improve digestive disorders such as stomach aches, poor digestion and constipation. Through specific manual techniques, osteopathy can help restore balance and mobility to tissues related to the digestive system, such as organs, muscles, and joint structures.

Circulatory or nervous disorders

Osteopathy can improve circulatory and nervous disorders. Through manual techniques and holistic approaches, osteopaths seek to restore balance and mobility in the body.

Muscle stress

Muscle stress, a tense muscle uses a large amount of energy and reduces its elasticity, something that makes it more prone to damage. The relief of this stiffness, in addition to ending the pain, favors the circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids, thus facilitating the transport of nutrients and oxygen and the elimination of waste.

Migraines and headaches

Osteopathy may be a treatment option for migraine. The osteopathic approach focuses on the evaluation and correction of structural and biomechanical dysfunctions of the body, with the goal of restoring balance and promoting healing.

In the case of migraine, the osteopath can use gentle manual techniques to release tension in the muscular and fascial tissues, especially in areas such as the neck, head and face

Joint problems

such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

"Dr. David Ponce, is a crack!!! After more than two years and two hip interventions after which acute pain persisted in the posterior thigh during this same time, he knew how to diagnose me with what no specialist contemplated: a break old hamstring, from which I am beginning to recover in the same clinic with the "hand" of the physiotherapist Arnau Surós."
