SPECIALTIES IN PHYSIOTHERAPY

Pediatric Physiotherapy

Pediatric Physiotherapy is a specialization that requires specialized training, since its approach and techniques differ from other areas of physiotherapy.

Pediatric Physiotherapy deals with the counseling, treatment and care of children and teenagers who present delays in their general development, movement disorders or other diseases or disorders that can be treated, controlled or alleviated through the intervention of expert physiotherapists and the use of specialized equipment.

How can we help our children?

In the first years of a child’s life, the most important abilities of a human being are developed, such as motor coordination, cognitive intelligence, linguistic skills and social interaction, which act fundamentally in their connection with the world around them. around you and with the activities with which you feel most comfortable. If a child knows his body and performs physical activities that free his creative mind, he will be able to make better decisions in the future that are in tune with his personal aspirations. Physiotherapy in children promotes psychological development and helps attention, self-esteem and learning (assimilation of knowledge).

Neurological dysfunctions

Cerebral palsy, Spina bifida, Neuromuscular diseases, Head injuries, Obstetic Brachial Palsy, Coordination Disorders...

Traumatological

Congenital torticollis, Dislocated hips, Arthrogryposis, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Clubfoot. Postural problems, Scoliosis

Respiratory dysfunctions

Cystic fibrosis, bronchiolitis, asthma

Physiotherapy for

Low-weight premature children, children with benign hypotonia, children with developmental delays due to environmental factors and children with idiopathic psychomotor delays are some of the cases in which physiotherapy plays a fundamental role.

Backache

In general, back pain in children is usually related to an injury, more and more we see children with back pain in consultation due to postural problems and even tension muscle pain.

Irritable baby syndrome

Tension problems at the musculoskeletal and dural level.
Feeding problems, both in exclusive breastfeeding and in supplementary feeding.
Breathing problems affecting the baby.

Infant colic

The crying of the baby can be caused by various discomforts, such as immaturity of the digestive system, stiffness in the spine, overstimulation, intolerance or reflux, lack of contact, among other factors. An experienced pediatric physical therapist can perform a thorough evaluation to identify and treat these difficulties.

"Dr. David Ponce, is a crack!!! After more than two years and two hip interventions after which acute pain persisted in the posterior thigh during this same time, he knew how to diagnose me with what no specialist contemplated: a break old hamstring, from which I am beginning to recover in the same clinic with the "hand" of the physiotherapist Arnau Surós."
